Ayurveda for Families
Ayurveda is an ancient system of healing – a whole systems approach to mind and body wellbeing. The mind cannot be truly healthy if the body is imbalanced, and the body relies on the health of the mind to maintain balance. Our bodies are a microcosm of the earth, a microcosm of the cosmos – absorbing and expending energy. We cannot ignore the interconnected nature of our bodies and the earth and expect to find true wellness.
Ayurveda works with the innate wisdom of the body, living in alignment with natural cycles, grounded in the wisdom of the present moment. Nutrition and lifestyle choices providing the foundation for continual wellbeing. Instead of simply addressing symptoms as they arise individually, Ayurveda gives us practices and wisdom that promote mind and body wellness throughout all stages of life.
As parents, we all want to nourish our children, to keep them healthy and to encourage them to build habits that promote wellbeing. But each child in each family is unique, unfolding and growing in their own way. It can be challenging to determine the ‘best way’ to nourishing your family. The simple answer is that there is no one best way that will work for all people. Ayurveda teaches that we are all born with a different physical and mental constitution that needs nourishment and balancing in different ways. Ayurveda gives us the tools for coming to know our souls and our bodies and nurturing them properly. My goal is to help you feel empowered in knowledge and habit to nurture your family in the way best for them.
